Access to Life Access to Life was a collaboration between The Global Fund against AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis and Magnum Photos. In Haiti, I set out to chronicle the situation of four HIV-infected patients who were just starting anti-retroviral medications. I returned four months later to see how the treatment had gone. I left a polaroid camera with each of the families, which they used to take a portrait of their sick relative every day between my visits. In some cases the recovery was quick and remarkable. In others, the treatment had come to late. Access to Life resulted in a book, a website, and an exhibition that has travelled to over 10 countries.
