Vesterålen News

I love newspapers. The physical feel, the smell of paper and ink, the organization of stories.

In 2013, while I had been a photographer for some 15 years, I realized that I'd never really worked for a newspaper. And if it is true that the death of newsprint is imminent, I definitely didn't want to expire myself before I had the chance to work for one of these fine purveyors of information. When my fiancé went to work at local medical clinic in the village of Myre (population 2,035) in Vesterålen in Northern Norway, I decided this was my chance.

I got a job at Bladet Vesterålen, a local newspaper, and tried to find the local news.
